Jihadists on Thursday, November 24, 2022 attacked farmers at Rafin Sarki village in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Nigeria, killing 12 and injuring 3 others.
A politician in the community, Sambokhan Giwa, who confirmed the incident said trouble started when Jihadists demanded levies from farmers who were harvesting their "own" farm produce.
According to him, the farmers resisted which provoked the armed men and they started shooting. At the end 12 farmers were killed and 3 others injured. The injured are receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital while the bodies of the victims were laid to rest on Friday morning.
Some of the victims are, Abdullahi Musa, Adamu Musa, Aminu Nasiru, Adamu Ibrahim, Yau Usman Ladan, Yunusa Saidu, Salisu Abdulrahman, Fati Usman, Yakubu Ya'u, Marwanu Ibrahim and one unidentified person.
The Governor, Nasir El-Rufai on his part, expressed deep sadness at the incidences, and sent his heartfelt sympathy to the families of the slain victims. And prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. He reassures that the Government is engaging the security forces on the insecurity situation in their state.
