The major resource person for the Queen mothers' seminar, Rev. Dr. Charles Leslie stated that Queen mothers are leaders that speak for their people for social justice and development. So, they must be well equipped with leadership skills to be able to do that effectively.

He pointed out that, Queen Mothers have to be bold in confronting issues and knowledgeable on conflict resolutions. And reminded them of the numerous challenges that women in general face. That is why God has chosen the Queens to be the voices of other voiceless people like women and children in their communities.

There was also a presentation by the Anloga NCCE Directorate on the origin and roles of Queens. Which was delivered by Mad. Emmanuella Woelikplim Afetorgbor of the gender desk under the supervision of Torgbi Hatsu III, the Director of NCCE, Anloga District.

And she believes that they don’t have to impose their will on these children. But give them the opportunity to come out with their talents and passions. So that they the Queens can easily guide them to success.

Mama also stressed on the need for collaboration and networking among the people and the communities so that collectively they can develop.

According to Mama, her main goal for coming up with this leadership seminar is to impart leadership skills in the children who participated for them to also go to their communities to train their colleagues on leadership and community building. And the Queen Mothers must also have some leadership training to further equip them to excellently undertake their duties as leaders and role models in their communities.

On her part, the President of the Anlo Queens Council, Mama Wotorbe II encouraged the participants to make good use of the knowledge to be acquired during the two separate seminars. She stated that her motivation for the seminar is to help the youth to learn and acquire some leadership skills that they were not able to have growing up. She also shared her expectations that in the long round everyone will benefit from the training and knowledge that the participants will acquire.
