54 Killed, Dozens Injured in Sudan Market Attack

At least 54 people are dead and 158 wounded after a strike carried out by Sudan's Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on a market in Omdurman. Sudanese authorities and MSF said the paramilitary RSF was responsible for the attack, which the RSF denies.

Khaled Omar Youssef, a leader of the Progress Coordination Committee, said that the shelling of the Sabreen Market in Omdurman by the RSF was a "full-fledged war crime". He condemned this crime, which he described as heinous, and said perpetrators should be held accountable for their actions.

Tens of thousands of people have been killed and over 12 million have been displaced as a result of the brutal conflict between the RSF and the regular army since April 2023. The conflict has forced millions of people from their homes and brought half of the population to the brink of starvation.
