In a brief ceremony in his palace in Anloga, Torgbi Zonyira IV celebrated and acknowledged the roles played by his predecessors and leaders of the Zonyira family in protecting the royal Zonyira Stool for posterity. He also launched a "family History book".
This event took place on Friday, November 1, 2024, in Anloga in the Volta Region of Ghana. And was chaired by Torgbi Tudoabor III of Anloga and graced by the Director of the Togo Airport, Mr. Atisso Aholourdji Francois who is also the representative of Torgbi Zonyira in Togo.
The Zonyira royal Stool is one of the war stools in Anlo and was established after the "Agoe Adzigo" War I in 1860. And it is in the Ewipeme Clan, which was founded by Amega Leh.
The current occupant, Torgbi Zonyira IV, who was enstooled in Anloga Lashibi in 2011, is a very accomplished person. He is a teacher/lecturer in Toronto Canada, belongs to the Ontario College of Teachers and Ontario Institute of Planners and currently the Chair and Founder of Ewe Royals in Canada.
Torgbi studied at York University in Canada for his Bachelor, and Masters in International Relations and holds a Doctorate in Education from the University of Toronto, Canada.
In his speech, Torgbi praised the instrumental roles of his ancestors and those who defended the family during very difficult periods. He encouraged the family to unite and come together to develop.
Also present at the ceremony were Torgbi Ashiagbor IV, Mama Dzutsi IV, Mama Asinyralewo II, Mama Ngorgbe II, Mama Hoedzinya II, Mama Baxeshie, Nugorgbea Menorvi, among others.
