The crack security team of the Zamfara State Police has rescued a year-old child and 6 women abducted by terrorists at Kadamutsa village in Zurmi Local Government Area in Nigeria. This was disclosed by the spokesperson of the command, SP Muhammad Shehu.
In a statement on Friday, November 25, 2022, he stated that the rescue was as a result of an extensive search-and-rescue operation conducted along Zurmi - Jibiya axis. He acknowledged they achieved success by the help of Vigilante groups and intelligence gathered.
The statement further reads, “the Police operatives mobilized to the location where a search and rescue operation was conducted along Zurmi - Jibiya axis, leading to the unconditional rescue of all the victims unhurt. The victims were taken to the hospital for medical checks, debriefed by the Police detectives and handed over to their families”.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Kolo Yusuf, while commending the Police operatives and vigilante groups for the successful rescue operation, congratulated the victims for regaining their freedom. He reiterated the Command's continuous determination to rid the state of criminal activities and apprehend criminal elements committing heinous crimes across the state.
