The celebration was graced by His Royal Majesty Togbe Afede XIV, alongside distinguished Chiefs and Elders, Queen Mothers, women leaders, representatives of women’s associations, students, market women, service personnel and other members of the community who came together to honour the strength, resilience and invaluable contributions of women to society.

The guest speaker, Ambassador Sena Siaw, delivered an inspiring message encouraging women to build confidence, embrace leadership and position themselves as active participants in shaping the future of their communities and the nation.

The programme also featured important educational sessions on cervical cancer awareness, prevention and early detection, equipping participants with knowledge that can contribute to better health outcomes for women.

Personnel from the Bank of Ghana also led participants through a practical educational session on how to identify counterfeit Ghanaian banknotes, as well as the appropriate way to handle suspected counterfeit notes without unnecessarily defacing or damaging them. The session provided particularly valuable knowledge for market women, business owners and others who handle cash in their daily activities.

In his address, Togbe Afede XIV encouraged women not to wait for change to happen but to become initiators of change. He urged them to step forward, embrace responsibility, pursue leadership opportunities and take on challenging roles, emphasising that women have an essential part to play in driving progress and transforming society.
