Ghana has won its tax dispute with Tullow Ghana, with an international tribunal dismissing the company’s claims and upholding the GRA’s US$393.09 million assessment. The ruling was delivered on September 29, 2026.
The dispute dates back to December 2022, when the GRA issued a US$196.5 million tax assessment concerning insurance proceeds received between 2016 and 2019. The amount upheld includes penalties. This was an existing dispute that continued under the current government.
