The Agave clan of Anlo under the leadership of Awadada Agbesi Awusu II, Torgbi Zewu IV and other Chiefs and Queens have undertaken Stool cleansing and purification rituals today, Monday, September 29, 2025, in Anloga in the Volta Region of Ghana.
This is part of activities to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Awadada Agbesi Awusu II, the current occupant of the Kaklaku Stool of Anlo.
The stool cleansing and purification are rituals where the royal Stools and Chiefs are cleaned and purified with special and sacred herbs that are very confidential.
According to the Managing Director of Senyo Traditional TV, Mr. John Yao Agbetsiafa, who spoke to OneForumNews1 - Accra, the stool cleansing ritual is one of the most important rituals among the royals of Anlo. And it is periodically done in order to rejuvenate and revitalize the strength of the Stools and their occupants.
Mr. Agbetsiafa further stated that this ritual is mostly done at dawn at the seashore or in a very thick forest in areas that are landlocked.
In all, 4 royal Stools were taken through the cleansing and purification processes. They are Awadada's Stool, Zewu's Stool, Subo's Stool and Adelashi Kotor's Stool.

Other activities are still underway in the Awadada’s Palace in Anloga. And the grand durbar of Chiefs and people of Anlo will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Hogbe park, Anloga in the Volta Region.
