The group of South African National Defence Force (SANDF) soldiers who were critically injured in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) are back in the country.
The soldiers will receive high-level medical care while the remainder of their colleagues are expected back in the country later this week.
SANDF spokesperson Siphiwe Dlamini says the coordination with other relevant role players ensured the safe return of the wounded members.
“We urge the public to respect and afford privacy to the injured members and their families during the healing process. The SANDF remains committed to the welfare of our soldiers. Further updates will be provided as necessary.”
