Cecilia Abena Dapaah, the embattled Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources in Ghana, has resigned. A letter written and signed by the Minister on Saturday, July 22, 2023, made this announcement.
This is as a result of the outrage that Ghanaians showed following a court case in which two house helpers and others are accused of stealing $1 million, €300,000, and millions of cedis from her Ablekuma property.
In order to protect herself and the NPP government from further embarrassment, she made the moral decision to quit.
She thanked the President for giving her the chance to serve the lovely country of Ghana.
