In the early hours of Friday, May 12, 2023, an Accra High Court has struck out Dr. Kwabena Duffour’s injunction application against the National Democratic Congress’s presidential and parliamentary primaries.
This action followed an application by his lawyers to have the case withdrawn. They made the request when the case was called for hearing. As expected, there was no opposition from NDC’s lawyers and that of the Electoral Commission (EC).
Dr. Duffuor and his team earlier alleged it has not been furnished with an accurate list of persons who are supposed to participate in the May 13, Presidential and Parliamentary polls. And the party register not credible for the election.
And wanted the court to put the elections on hold until those anomalies corrected. But in a sharp U-turn, he withdrawn the case and the NDC’s presidential and parliamentary primaries will take place as scheduled on May 13, 2023.
