In Nigeria, at least thirteen worshippers are still being held in armed gang camps after they were abducted from a local mosque in Maigamji village of Funtua town in Katsina State.
The attackers stormed the mosque during evening prayers, shooting and wounding the imam and other worshippers.
A former councilor of Maigamji ward in Funtua LGA of Katsina, Alhaji Lawal Maigamji, said the bandits stormed the mosque during Isha’i prayer on Saturday, December 3, 2022, and opened fire on worshipers, including the Imam.
He identified those shot as Malam Yusha'u, the Imam, and Hussaini Jamo, a worshipper, adding that they are both receiving treatment at a hospital in Funtua.
However, not much is achieved as killing and kidnapping by terrorists have become the norm in most states.
