In South Africa, two men were arrested by the Mpumalanga police for allegedly attempting to murder their 68-year-old father on Monday night, 28 November.
According to the report, the victim was asleep at home in the Maviljan Trust near Bushbuckridge when he heard a knock at the door at approximately 22:30. He went to inspect, and one of his sons allegedly told him that he was returning a key to him.
As smart as he was, instead of opening the door, the father only opened a window to receive the key and that was when he met a hail of bullets, hitting him on the thigh.
Three suspects were reportedly outside the home, two of which were the victim’s sons. In his injured state, the 68-year-old managed to call the police for help. The police responded swiftly and rushed to the scene and rescued the man. He was taken to the hospital for medical attention.
Further investigations are underway.
