In a lone gunman case, three people were shot and killed in Bishop Lavis, Cape Town, South Africa late on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. The provincial Anti-Gang Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the brutal triple murder.
Two men; aged 46 and 48 and a 25-year-old woman were shot, according to the South African Police Service (SAPS).
“According to reports, an unknown suspect entered the premises and fired several shots at the victims. The victims sustained gunshot wounds to their heads and were declared dead at the scene by medical personnel,” said Colonel Andre Traut.
The suspect fled the scene and is still at large. The motive for the murder is yet to be established.
In the police’s crime stats for the second quarter of 2022/2023, which were released recently, there were 202 gang-related murders between July and September. And the Western Cape was home to 175 of those murders.
