Ahead of the general elections on May 29, a recent report from the Centre for Analytics and Behavioural Change (CABC) reveals that the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) are leading the online conversation about the elections in South Africa.
The conversation also touched on Jacob Zuma's car accident and unverified claims of the African National Congress (ANC) involvement, which underscores the widespread problem of disinformation. The discourse became even more complex due to concerns about foreign interference, arising from a TikTok video that hinted at U.S. coup attempts in BRICS nations.
However, despite these challenges, the EFF and MK Party continue to hold a central role in the narrative surrounding the South African election.
