The Installation of Torgbi Ashiagbor IV of Anloga, Torgbi Kpemini Gawu V in attendance

The King makers of the Royal Amlade clan of Anlo and the Chiefs, Queens and people of the Anlo Traditional council or Anlo Dukor Council have installed Torgbi Ashiagbor IV, known in Private life as Mr. Felix Kobla Hado.

The preliminary processes took place last Thursday, March 14, 2024, in Anloga. And as customs and traditions of the good people of Anlo demanded, he was led by the Chiefs, Queens, King makers, Elders and the people of Anloga to the seashore for some very special processes and rituals that are crucial during installation of a chief among the Anlos of the Volta region of Ghana.

These included cleansing and purification of the royal Stool and the new Chief with special herbs that are sacred and confidential. His Agbotadua was also taken through special rituals.

Preliminary swearing of oaths to the new Chief by the three Wings of the Anlo Kingdom also took place. This was led by Torgbi Zewu IV, the Dufia of Anloga, representing the middle wing, Torgbi Kpemini Gawu V of Anloga-Whuti representing the left wing and Torgbi Satsiakor of Anloga, representing the right wing.

The oath taking is so sacred and spiritual to remind the newly installed chief of their readiness to respond to his call and to support him whether raining or shinning, night or day, in times of war or peace.

However, as customs and traditions demand, the newly installed chief does not return or answer to these oaths sworn at the seashore. But will be given the opportunity to do so during the outdooring ceremony and the Sandaling processes. Which are also very important processes in the Chieftaincy institution of the Anlos.

The new chief was further escorted to his home carried on guns. He was carried by his clan’s men and safely returned home for the further processes accompanied by drumming and singing by the Asafo group from Anloga.

And after the seventh day in confinement, the outdooring of Torgbi Ashiagbor IV is slated for Thursday, March 21, 2024 in Anloga.

Torgbi Ashiagbor IV was a product of Wa Technical University and Zion College, Anloga, and he is an Operations Officer in the Ghana National fire service stationed at the Tema motorway fire station.

The rituals and processes were superintended over by Dumega C. K. Galley under the supervision of Torgbi Zewu IV, Torgbi Kpemini Gawu V and other Chiefs present at the ceremony.
