(Security): Thousands Killed, Ten-Thousand more Missing in Floods in Libya

At least 2,300 people have died in an eastern Libyan city alone after a powerful storm caused devastating floods in the area over the weekend, emergency services said on Tuesday September 12, 2023.

Another 5,000 people were reported missing in the city of Derna, Deutsche Welle reports, quoting an official from the Tripoli-based Rescue and Emergency Service.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) earlier Tuesday reported that around 10,000 people were missing.
