(Politics): NPP Super Delegates Conference, the Fight for the Best 5 Candidates

The much-awaited NPP Super Delegates Conference is here. And it will take place across the country, Ghana at the various regional capitals today Saturday, August 26, 2023.

This is to elect five finalists to contest for the flagbearership slot for the 2024 Election.

It became necessary because 10 candidates filed to lead the party and to succeed the sitting President Akufo Addo.

They are, in the order of appearance on the ballot:

1.Kennedy Agyapong

2.Alan Kyerematen

3.Joe Ghartey

4.Kwadwo Poku

5.Afriyie Akoto

6.Kwabena Agyepong

7.Addai Nimoh

8.Konadu Apraku

9.Boakye Agyarko

10.Mahamudu Bawumia

Among these 10 candidates, the delegates made up of few representatives from the constituencies will vote, including national executives and some elders of the party to select the best 5 to compete in the main primaries.

This is going to be a crucial and must watch contest, because what ever outcome we see today will highly influence who becomes the leader of the party in the main primaries in November 2023.

This super delegates voting will officially close at 4pm, with only 961 delegates voting.

One interesting place to watch is the National Headquarters voting center of the NPP. Because who ever wins there will be presumed to be the one supported by the majority of the National executives and the elders of the party, including the sitting president and the former president Kuffour. Because that is the center they will all vote.

What OneForumNews1 can project is:

1. Mahamudu Bawumia

2. Alan Kyerematen

3. Kennedy Agyapong

4. Joe Ghartey

5. Afriyie Akoto

Will likely make it to the best 5. We are watching that space to bring you the best.
